Commencing with a borrowed telephone line, answering machine and typewriter, Preston Christian Message was born in a cupboard in St Cuthberts Church Care Center in Lytham Rd, Preston. It was inaugurated by Lord Coggan, the late Archbishop of Canterbury, whose sister, the late Miss Norah Coggan, had launched the Christian Telephone Ministry in London.
During 1984 and 1985, Miss Coggan had visited Preston and she had provided the inspiration for commencing the ministry here.
From such humble beginnings, the telephone ministry grew.
Since then we have changed premises 4 times, as our circumstances have changed. We have lost some members and have gained some new members.
In keeping with the times, we have now added the Internet and E-mail as a means of enabling people to contact us.
In all that time, we have sought to always carry out the task that God had given us. To introduce people to the Lord and help them to understand that He is the answer.
The motto that seemed to streamline the work was , and still is "We do not believe in miracles, we RELY on them". Praise God!.
